Subscriptions

Sustainable Business Model

Since 2006 we’ve providing software via a perpetual license model. It has proven to be extremely difficult to sustain this, as Apple releases new versions of their OS on a yearly basis, many times requiring months of work to have the apps “just work” on the next OS.

We have therefore decided to sell subscriptions on an annual licensing & billing model. We don’t offer monthly subsciptions at this time.

Billing

After your trial ends, you will be billed up front for the first year, then again after that period has elapsed. You will be shown the exact amounts you will be billed (and the billing frequency) during the checkout process, before you are asked to enter your payment information.

Cancellation & Refunds

You can cancel your subscription from your SWB Account page. You may cancel your subscription any time. If you cancel before your trial expires, you will not be billed any amount.

When you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have full access to the product until the end of your current billing period. After that, to use the product, you would need to re-subscribe.

Refund Policy

There are no pro-rated refunds for annual plans. Once you have been billed, your subscription will remain active until the end of that billing cycle.

Delivery

Payment Providers (Stripe & Paddle)

- Subscription based products are handled by Stripe. Stripe is the Merchant of Record for all our subscription orders.
- Non-Subscriptions procduct orders are handled by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all non subscription based orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

iShowU Instant & iShowU Studio

At the time of purchase, you will be sent an activation code. Entering the activation code will unlock the software, such that it no longer watermarks new recordings.

iShowU v1, HD and Stomp

At purchase time, we create an account for you on our system so that you can get instant access to your purchase history and retrieve lost unlock keys if need be. You use these same account details to unlock the product (over the internet). After starting the application, click on the “Unlock …” button that appears in the first dialog, then enter your email address and password (these are the login details you setup when you purchased from us). With one click of a button you can then unlock the product and use it without any restrictions. You can also access this feature from the product’s application menu, at the top of the screen.

Additionally, at the time of purchase we send out an email with your current set of “unlock keys”. This is simply an alternative method, which you can use on machine that don’t have an internet connection. If you have purchased a product but have not received your unlock keys please first check your spam folders, and failing that, contact support with the transaction number of the sale.

Example – if you purchase 10 licenses for iShowU, you will be able to unlock iShowU on 10 different machines. Of course, if you’re administering a large site there are alternatives available (all to do with how you go about deploying the unlock) that will ease your pain. Feel free to get in touch with if you’d like more information on this.

I’ve lost my details / unlock key

No problem.
1. Visit the ‘lost key’ page and enter the email address you purchased with.
2. We will look up all purchase history and send it to this address.

Refund Policy

shinywhitebox ltd provide an unlimited trial period for its software products and thus considers the need for refunds to be in only rare and exceptional occasions. Requests for refunds should be directed to along with some explanation of why the refund is required and why the unlimited trial period was in some way inadequate.

Guidance: We try to be reasonable. Refunds made with 60 days of the original purchase will be considered. Refund request made five (5) years after the original purchase, not so much.
